Our SAFE DRIVING FOR A LIFETIME package prepares new drivers and their parents to gain the skills necessary to become the safest driver possible.

The program begins with AAA developed and State of Florida approved “Dare to Prepare” presentation. This 90-minute presentation teaches parents and teens about graduated licensing laws, requirements for obtaining a learner’s permit and driver’s license, parent’s role and responsibilities, state and national statistics on driving and practical tips on teaching teens to drive.
Following the presentation, your teen will receive How To Drive and DriverZED, a AAA developed and State of Florida approved 30 hour course of study and DVD computer-based program that allows them to experience and practice many difficult driving situations without fear of actual consequences. These programs can be completed at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home. Teens will read each chapter, complete activities and take a short test online. We believe that parental involvement is critical at this stage, and will provide you with a log to maintain a record of the 50 hours of supervised driving required by the State of Florida.
Parents will receive a DVD copy of Safe Driving…Every Minute, Every Day.This DVD gives parents and teens basic information in the form of a narrated Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Topics covered include how to begin to teach your teen skills behind the wheel, vehicle dynamics, how and why crashes happen and how to prevent them. This program also focuses on the dangers of street racing and ego-based decisions. Also included on the DVD is a 30 minute parent/teen program designed to introduce parents to the teen driving experience.

Before leaving Dare To Prepare, parents/teens will choose a weekend to attend Teen Scene Driving Academy, 8 hours of behind the wheel driving skills completed over the course of a single weekend. During the 2-day driving session students will work in very small group of 6 students per 2 instructors on life saving skill stations such as crash avoidance, impaired driving awareness, wet/dry braking, reaction time, impact of distractions on driving, backing and parking (parallel, angle and straight) lane maintenance, vehicle dynamics and car control.

A final exam will be given on the Saturday morning of their driving weekend covering all 16 chapters of “How To Drive”.

Additional Programs

Teen Scene Driving Academy / DriverZED DVD

Behind the wheel driver training is available to teens or adults who have successfully completed basic driver’s education, but do not yet feel comfortable or confident behind the wheel of the vehicle. Our stand alone 2-day intermediate driver training will give both novice and experienced driver’s an opportunity to gain or enhance skills that could save their life in an emergency situation. Our 8 hours of behind the wheel training focuses on skills such as crash avoidance, impaired driving awareness, wet/dry braking, reaction time, impact of distractions on driving, backing and parking (parallel, angle and straight), lane maintenance and car control.

As an additional training component, DVD based DriverZED is included with this training. DriverZED is a AAA developed computer-based program that allows them to experience and practice many difficult driving situations without fear of actual consequences. The DVD will be mailed upon registration and selection of weekend driving date. This training will not qualify for insurance discounts.

At Home Class:

32 hour How To Drive/DriverZED offers teens the information that would be gained through traditional driver’s education coursework. The advantage of this program is that it is completed in the comfort and convenience of home, at a pace that suits each individual. This package consists only of book work, and does not include any behind the wheel training. In order to take the final exam, teens must attend a 45 minute supervised exam on a Saturday morning of their choice. It is priced at $79.95.
